AVLFest 2024

AUGUST 01-04, 2024
ASHEVILLE, NC

THE SHORT VERSION

Asheville’s citywide, comprehensive music festival returns for a second season.

Most major cities have one or two music festivals going in any given year, but Asheville’s AVLFest isn’t just a single event at a single venue. This festival takes the city by storm and features more than 200 artists at more than 20 venues around Asheville, including concert halls, clubs and outdoor parks. The Asheville Music Hall, The Outpost and The Cellar at Haywood Park Hotel are a few of these venues, giving you a choice between an acoustic set at a small, intimate microbrewery or a dance party at a performing arts center. The music, too, covers an enormous range, from your typical Appalachian folk rock to cosmic jazz and everything in between. At AVLFest, it’s all about options.

A few of those musical options include River Whyless, Blitzen Trapper and Papadosio. The inaugural AVLFest in 2023 saw performances by Dylan Leblanc, Indigo De Souza and Dustbowl Revival. With so many diverse local venues to choose from, the food and drink options are also limitless. Crunchy shrimp at The Odd, a Scotch egg at Jack of the Woods and a kava cocktail at Sovereign Kava are all on the menu. For locals, AVLFest is a celebration of beloved establishments and hometown artists. For visitors, it’s the perfect introduction to Asheville.
