CANCELLED: Bay Bites Food Truck Festival 2023

AUGUST 27, 2023
MOBILE, AL

THE SHORT VERSION

If you’ve ever gone to a parade, music festival, gas station parking lot at midnight or any other arduous outdoor place solely for the food, then the Bay Bites Food Truck Festival might be for you.

THIS FESTIVAL HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Named by USAToday as the ninth-best food festival in the nation, The Bay Bites Food Truck Festival is dedicated to quick bites and portable plates, all by Mobile’s waterfront. This neighborhood block party-esque festival has all different types of cuisines and tiers on the food pyramid. Although the festival won’t happen in 2023, past offerings include seafood, crepes, barbecue, burgers (try a Crazy Crustacean from Bacon My Day if you’re feeling extra adventurous), elote and copious amounts of frozen yogurt self-serve.

Bring a water bottle — Alabama in the middle of summer, after all — but come thirsty, too. The Bay Bites Food Truck Festival offers a number of craft wine and beer stations for 21+ attendees who just want to crack open a cold one on the banks of Mobile.

The festival is not restricted to ages 21 and up, though. In fact, families are encouraged to attend. If the self-serve wasn’t reason enough, there will be enough lawn games and prize giveaways to keep children entertained for an evening. Bonus: kids under 12 get in for free and all proceeds from the festival go toward Mobile Baykeeper, a nonprofit focused on maintaining Mobile’s water and air quality.

The Specs:

  • Tickets cost $16 in advance or $15 at the gate. Children under 12 get in for free.
  • Bring some extra money. While tickets include three alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks of your choice, they don’t cover the cost of food inside the festival.
  • Check out Fifty Grande’s guide to Alabama here.
