Country Thunder Arizona 2023

APRIL 13-16, 2023
FLORENCE, AZ

THE SHORT VERSION

Arizona’s largest country music festival will roar back to life with four days of beer, dusty boots and a star-studded lineup in the Sonoran Desert.

Country Thunder Arizona is returning to Florence’s Canyon Moon Ranch for four days of booze, music and Stetson hats from April 13-16. Arizona’s largest country music festival has attracted some of the genre’s biggest names since its start in 1993, and it has grown into a six edition series spanning North America, including stops in Wisconsin, Tennessee, Florida and Canada. After making its post-Covid return in October 2021, Country Thunder made a speedy turnaround with another iteration in April 2022, featuring artists like Blake Shelton, Morgan Wallen and Florida Georgia Line. This year, Jon Pardi, Luke Bryan, Cody Johnson and Dierks Bentley are set to headline.

In terms of country music festivals, Country Thunder Arizona isn’t much different. The Arizona crowd goes all-out in red, white and blue attire as residents complain of traffic and law enforcement cracks down on drunk drivers. But Country Thunder is still sure to provide a good time with dancing, carnival rides and performances from some of country music’s best.

When you’re under the Arizona sun, cowboy hats aren’t just for style, but protection. Make sure to bring lots of sunscreen and drink plenty of water. Additionally, the drive to and from the event can be painful (note: arrive early, even if you only plan to see the headliners), but many prefer to camp on-site anyway. Not down for roughing it in the Sonoran Desert for 4 days? Look into glamping options and private port-a-potties (they make a big difference).
