HiJinx Fest

DECEMBER 29-30, 2022
PHILADELPHIA, PA

THE SHORT VERSION

Bassheads, this one's for you. HiJinx Fest is one stage and two days of bass’s biggest stars in the massive Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Bassheads, this is the music festival for you. You won’t find trance or house at HiJinx Fest, just hardcore EDM booming from the (apparently very good) speakers. Founded in 2018, HiJinx Fest has grown into a destination electronic party in the tri-state area, one that refreshingly isn’t in Brooklyn. Its formula is pretty simple: take two days and one stage, and fill them with the biggest stars in bass music. Add in giant inflatable aliens, performance art, a smattering of vendors, multiple screens playing trippy graphics around the stage and lots of lasers, and you’ve got some HiJinx. Better yet, according to reviewers, HiJinx has only gotten better with time.

This year, DJ Snake, Flume, Ganja White Night, Gigantic Nghtmare and Rezz will bring their bass-dropping shenanigans to the HiJinx 2022 headlining slots. There will also be a B2B set with Griz and Zeds Dead as well as sets by 10 other DJs to get the #fullsend going. Think of HiJinx Festival less like a music fest and more as a concert, even a classic warehouse party — except that warehouse is a 1-million-square-foot convention center and the audiovisuals far surpass that of any local industrial park. You’ll ring in the new year moshing in one massive room filled wall to wall with ravers. Luckily, the room is so big that, even when its packed, you can dance with friends without crashing into other people.

The downside: Attendees have reported long waits at the entrance in years past. The silver lining: The convention center is smack dab in the middle of downtown Philly, so there are lots of great hotels within walking distance of the event.
