Jelly Roll performs live.

iHeartCountry Festival 2024

MAY 04, 2024
AUSTIN, TX

THE SHORT VERSION

This who’s-who of modern mainstream country has ATX feelin’ alright, alright, alright.

Hosted again by iHeartMedia personality Bobby Bones, the iHeartCountry Festival will celebrate its 11th year of Texas, trucks and twang. Past headliners like Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and Rascal Flatts have lit up Moody Arena between bites of Texas barbecue. This year, they’ll pass the mic to Jelly Roll and Lady A, who will headline the hoedown along with Jason Aldean.

If you don’t know Aldean, maybe you recall his 2023 song “Try That in a Small Town,” which features the chorus “Well, try that in a small town / See how far you make it down the road / Around here we take care of our own / You cross that line, it won’t take long / For you to find out, I recommend you don’t.” The song’s music video last July, filmed at the site of a 1926 lynching and depicting a montage of Molotov cocktails and gas station robberies, ignited controversy, with many saying that Aldean was condoning vigilante justice in the form of lynchings and race riots. Aldean refutes the claims

Capital One sponsors the event, not that they could ever let anyone forget it. Past years of the iHeartCountry Festival (sponsored by Capital One) have held meet-and-greets for fans to get a photo with their favorite artist (sponsored by Capital One) and the iHeartRadio “We’re All Country” Guitar Pull, promising performances from three surprise country music artists (sponsored by — surprise! It’s Ram Trucks.)

If you’re hankering for some southern comfort outside of Texas, you can listen to the live broadcast of the festival on iHeartRadio, or watch the iHeartCountry Festival recording in select cinemas around the country.
