Ready to get high? Of course, we are. Picnic chairs, bright-colored blankets, and thousands of people holding the most unique bongs fill the grass at the National Cannabis Festival, which commemorates the legalization of cannabis and brings together cannabis lovers from all over the country. Starting in 2016, this festival has grown as the legalization of cannabis reaches more and more states and territories.
The National Cannabis Festival hosts educational workshops and discussions at their Culture Pavillon and Grow School, where you can learn more about cannabis, its policy, and its responsible usage. The schedule for these discussions is yet to be released, but in previous years topics ranged from crypto and cannabis to marijuana in midterm elections. When the weed finally hits, you can try some munchies, like funnel cakes from Lattimore’s and soulfood from Soulific Seafood, at the Exhibitor Fair where 2 Chainz (pictured above) and Juicy J will perform at the festival’s concert. But remember that this festival only runs for 10 hours – so get there early.
- Approximately 25,000 people per year attend this festival
- Each general admissions ticket costs $65
- The event will run from 12 PM – 10 PM (if you have an early ticket then you can get in an hour earlier at 11 AM)
What does the ticket include? Entry to the festival, workshops, vendors, and more from noon to 10 PM.
Is there an age limit? This festival is open for only persons 21+ with a valid government ID
What’s the best time to arrive? Since it is only for one day, arrive early to begin exploring early. Once you leave the festival, you cannot re-enter the festival unless you buy another ticket.
What should I bring? Think about bringing some lawn chairs or picnic blankets to rest and chill in between munching down and workshops. Food and drinks are provided for purchase at the event and there will be several vendors to choose from.
Where can I get updates? Some of the schedules have not yet been posted so follow their Instagram for constant updates.
