Punk in the Park

Punk in The Park 2023

NOVEMBER 04-05, 2023
SILVERADO, CA

THE SHORT VERSION

Punk is not dead, it just moved to a park out west.

Are you missing the circle pits of your youth? So are a few thousand other West Coast punks. On November 4 and 5, they are wiping their kids’ snot off their hands and taking over Oak Canyon Park in Orange County, California for the third year of Punk in the Park. One of the many promising new punk rock events in a post-Warped Tour scene—of course, sponsored by Vans and Monster Energy—the festival promises three additional stages this year with over 30 punk bands playing during its two-day run. Over the past two years, Punk in The Park has pulled young and older fans to celebrate Southern California-bred punk bands and a new generation of alternative music festival meccas.

This year, with headliners and punk rock icons like Pennywise, Descendents, and Goldfinger, who hail from Southern California, Punk in The Park has become one of the most popular events of its kind in the US. It’s also showcasing pro skaters this year with the addition of the Vans Vert Ramp, a giant halfpipe where festival goers can find professional skateboarders throughout the weekend. The event’s creators, Brew Ha Ha Productions, began in the fest space with the Brew Ha Ha Craft Beer Festival in 2010, and now run multiple festivals that combine craft beer with great music. Over a dozen local breweries, including Stone Brewing and Ten Mile Brewing Company, will serve over a hundred craft beers and ciders at this year’s Punk in the Park. It’s one of the few festivals of its kind to endorse beer tasting, skateboarding, and headbanging with the same reverence.
