At Rocklahoma, the blowout rock festival held in Pryor, Oklahoma, the music is heavy and the people are wild. You’re more likely to find a person in a chicken suit than a flower crown and guaranteed to see some of the most famous names in hard rock music. Ozzy, Slipknot, Slayer, Korn, Staind, Godsmack, Deftones, A Perfect Circle — name the headbangers and they’ve probably been on one of Rocklahoma’s four stages.
As much as people come to this spot outside Tulsa for the music, they also come to party (big surprise!), much of which happens on Rocklahoma’s legendary campgrounds. Campers elaborately decorate their sites and throw down with tens of thousands of other rock fans. The campgrounds will open on Aug. 28 at noon and shut it down at noon CT on Sept. 5. Don’t be surprised if you see a stripper pole in the back of a pick-up truck: it’s only the tip of the iceberg.
The 2022 fest, the 15th one, will feature headliners Korn, Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown, Evanescence, Megadeth, Seether and Cypress Hill. Others on the lineup include Skillet, Underoath, Ice Nine Kills, The Hu, Nothing More, Bad Wolves, Bad Omens, Palaye Royale, Dorothy, Suicidal Tendencies, Lit, Quiet Riot, Enuff Z’nuff, Token, Fire From The Gods, Dana Dentata, Dropout Kings, Fan Halen, One Night Stand, Widow 7, Even In Death, Sin Of Saints, American Maid, McQueen Street, The Midnight Devils and many more.
