So What Music Festival 2023

So What Music Festival 2023

JUNE 24-25, 2023
DALLAS, TX

THE SHORT VERSION

Emos nostalgic for the early 2000s: time to break out your skinny jeans and side bangs.

Music lovers obsessed with that very particular slice of Y2K emo music and fashion, keep So What? Music Festival on your radar. With pop-punk bands like Pierce the Veil, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Breathe Carolina gracing the stages, skinny-jean-clad, Warped Tour-goers and fans of drawn-out and/or whiny singing won’t be disappointed.

Despite the emphasis on emo culture, the lineup is a cross-section of genres, highlighting rock, pop, metal and rap. Lil BubbleGum, a 17-year-old breakout rapper from New Zealand, will perform Saturday along with deathcore rockers Bodysnatcher, whose music is known for its off-putting aggressive sound and lyrics. On Sunday, Welsh pop-punk band Neck Deep will be playing their only festival performance in the United States in 2023, and post-harcore band Thursday is performing the entirety of their 2003 album “War all the Time.”

The festival has a new home this year, moving from Choctaw Stadium in Arlington to Fair Park in Dallas. At Fair Park, you can take refuge in stadium seats and chug the free Monster offered by festival vendors in order to recharge for the mosh pit.
