Sacramento’s annual Sol Blume Festival is approaching its fourth run this April and has already claimed its place as the largest R&B festival in the area. Likened to a “well-curated mix tape,” Sol Blume promises two days of everything from energetic hip-hop to sultry songs. Part of this label can be attributed to Sol Blume’s thoughtful lineup of Grammy-nominated artists and rapidly rising singers. This year names like Brent Faiyaz, Ella Mai, Sabrina Claudio and Muni Long will take the Sol Blume stages. R&B devotees and average radio listeners alike can be assured that they’ll know the lyrics to at least one song.
In case Kehlani’s sets of breakup tunes get you a little too much in your feels, Sol Blume has plenty of non-musical events to keep attendees occupied. The festival is equipped with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-friendly food truck options, a roller rink, butterfly exhibit, along with plenty of interactive — and Instagrammable — art installations.
Sacramento’s relatively small size, especially compared to cities like Los Angeles or San Diego, and proximity to Silicon Valley makes it a unique location to host a music festival. Sol Blume’s attendance of 40,000 makes the festival a key event in the city’s cultural landscape, especially as business owners display their work at the Sac Valley Marketplace.

Is there an age requirement for General Admission? Nope. Sol Blume is open to all ages, although minors are recommended to be accompanied by adults. The VIP section, though, is only open to attendees 21 and up.
What sort of items are prohibited? Items like alcohol, drugs, explosives, kites, pets, outside food, camera equipment, water guns, and umbrellas will not be allowed inside. Every attendee will be subject to a security pat-down, so double check the list of prohibited items while packing your belongings.
Where’s the entrance? What about the roller rink? Maps of the venue will be provided, so attendees can minimize their time spent wandering lost across the festival grounds.
