Ultra Festival 2023

MARCH 24-26, 2023
MIAMI, FL

THE SHORT VERSION

Ultra is a perfect microcosm of Miami: loud, vibrant, diverse, and ready to dance.

After a rough few years of grappling with COVID-19 cancellations and a challenging relocation, Ultra Music Festival is finding its footing again — and what a loud, bass-heavy step it is. Not only is it the unofficial start to the U.S. festival season, but since it began in 1999, Ultra has amassed tens of thousands of attendees each year, solidifying itself as a hallmark of Miami’s music and festival scenes. This year’s 3-day lineup, with Alesso, Zedd, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Tiësto, and Swedish House Mafia, is another reminder of Ultra’s status. (Past shows have included Marshmello, DJ Snake, and even surprise performances by 50 Cent.)

Ultra’s appeal makes for an international and energetic crowd. Of course, it also makes for a massive crowd — the lines are certainly not for the weak, so show up with comfortable shoes and ready to perhaps elbow a few people, if necessary.

The festival is also entirely green. The festival maintains a commitment to environmental sustainability, an admirable value of a festival so large in scope. They held successful initiatives in 2019 such as restricted beach access, bans on styrofoam and balloons, water bottle refill stations, and recycling programs, which they plan on bringing back this year. While you’re rocking out to the newest David Guetta beat stop by one of the many environmental nonprofit booths that make up the festival’s Eco Village.
